Any of you follow it last year?
A few things maybe you didn't know.
-8 players from last year's season were signed to professional contracts, including Eladio Rodriguez, last years MVP, who scored a deal with the AAA Yankee club.
-The Petach Tikva Pioneers have been moved to Jerusalem and renamed the Lions.
-The league has applied for Israel to be represented in the World baseball Classic. Because Jewish American major leaguers will be eligible for the team, Israel could be competitive right away.

Speaking of Jewish baseball players - Gabe Kaplar, playing for the Boston Red Sox was badly injured, and so he retired, although still quite young. He was managing in the Red Sox farm system the last I noticed. Then last night, with the Red Sox playing the Milwaukee Brewers in interleague play, there he was, a baseball player once again. He had come back to Fenway Park and the fans gave him a rousing welcome.
